While getting ready to hit the road again, we got a few pleasant surprises over the weekend: 3 new cold dust girl remixes -- and 3 of our favorites yet!

The first is by Only Children, a Chicago DJ/producer collective consisting of DJ Bald Eagle, Mister Wolf, Dinoscopy, and McCrae Reed of Gray Area. it's got the punk-funk DFA sound with some acidy squelches. download here

The second is by Chicago mash-up kings The Hood Internet, combining CDG with Beyond The Wizard Sleeve's remix of Texas indie rockers Midlake. This one is an anti-banger and all the better for it; it will have you reaching for the incense and scented candles. Check it out at their website thehoodinternet.com.


Last but not least, John Hilmes, aka Gingerking, sent us a Cold Dust Girl remix that also strikes a chiller vibe, definitely more for lounging with friends than elbowing your way to the front of the bar for a Red Bull Vodka. Sounds kinda like Motorbass or early Royksopp. Kyle from Hot Biscuits beat us to posting it by a long shot, but you can check it out here.
